fantastic song! waiting in Ottawa Canada for the chord charts and lyrics! Please send to kwest@peacetowerchurch.ca HOpe you can come to lead worship here sometime soon! God Bless you in EVERYTHING you are doing. Loved how you led us in Kansas City last month!
Fantastic song. We just sang this at our church this past Sunday. I immediately loved it. It is annointed. It is the type of song that just draws you into the presence of God, regardless of where you find yourself at that moment in time. God bless and you continue to pursue His heart.
I just was at THe Forge Worship Conference with my team this weekend. We all loved this song and each came to the conclusion independently that we need to do it at our service. However, I can’t find the chord charts for it anywhere. (I guess because it is so new.) It is listed on Song Select but no music. I’m willing to pay for the chord charts. Is there any chance of getting them? Thanks so much. God bless you as you continue writing songs for Him.
hey…im from oregon and i was at youth convention this weekend….each year youve been here so have i…..i really like this new song alot…..its amazing…thx for sharing it with us
Hey Jonathan, we introduced this song last Sunday to our church. They loved it!!! We are doing it again this week!!! Awesome Job!!!
Blessings to you. Joe, Worship Leader Eastpoint Church Spokane Wa.
I am blessed by what Jesus is doing through your heart–the song it sings.
Along with music, my heart sings through visual art–paint. My heart sings in full color, i guess you could say. lol!
Have you ever held worship with live-visual worship at the same time (paint/drawing)?Regardless, blessings to you and your team of creatives, in Jesus’ name.
His,
Jacqueline

Jonathan… our youth group is already singing “pouring it out” and I am considering teaching it to our congregation. So many great lines in there that both well said and so meaningful to our christian life.
I am wrestling just a bit with the line “O for a heart to romance”. I know it rhymes and fits well, and the scriptures clearly teach us of God’s desire for us to love him. It kind of seems like God is doing the romancing though. We don’t woo God, He woos us! God loves us and we respond to his love. He is the groom, we are the bride.

No song is perfect, and I’m sure you could look at the songs I have written and find something to object to as well. I am just trying to take our job of protector of theology seriously. The lyrics in our songs affect people’s views of God so significantly.
I was wondering if you had any thoughts on any of this.
Thanks so much for your contributions to the worship of our wonderful King!
Just thought I’d fill everyone who reads this in on the conversation that Jonathan and I had after that…. Jonathan was kind enough to respond that same day with this:

Jason,
Thank you so much for your email and the heart behind the email. I completely agree with you that God is romancing us and we are his bride. That is the image that me and Jared are trying to paint in that line. The whole verse is talking about God give us grace give us strength to love. Give us feet to dance, give us a heart to romance. The way I see that line is, God give us a loving heart. A heart that can be romanced. I am sorry for the confusion. I do not want people to be confused by the lyrics of my songs, but this song is about relationship. God loving us and us loving God. I hope this helps answer your questions about that line. Thank you for leading the song and sharing your heart with me.

And my response was:
Wow! That was fast! Thanks so so much for sharing! I am honored.
Oh for a heart to romance=Oh for a heart (open for God) to romance
(or longer and more elaborate …Oh that I would have a heart open and ready for God to romance, to overwhelm me with His love…)
That I can sing and that I can explain to anyone who asks and feel good about putting in the mouths of the people at my church
You have to compress so much meaning into so few words when writing songs… sorry about the misunderstanding and thanks again for clearing it up.
You might want to cut and paste your response on your blog just in case anyone else has the same question.
Looking forward to seeing you again at ChristianMusicianSummit in WA.
